A decade ago, there was a restaurant in the port of Mahon, in Menorca, one of the largest natural ports in the world, very close to the house of Admiral Nelson, whose terrace rested on stilt houses, surrounded by sailboats. There they made, without a doubt, the best grilled fish on the island. That restaurant used to belong to some old dear friends of mine. And there, in this magic place, with the background of El Lazareto island, I enjoyed some of the most beautiful sunsets I´ve seen in my life, while tasting Mediterranean fish washed down by some exquisite dry white wine. This sculpture is my little tribute to those sunsets.
This work is made from found materials treated and processed. It consists of three pieces, the oxidized stone painting of 103x71x2 cm; the front iron figure of 100x42x14 cm and the steel and wood base of 94x70x40 cm.
